Tonight I settled on Global to try a pair of reading-only glasses. I can't comment on the quality of the glasses yet, but the ordering process has me concerned.
At no point was I prompted to create an account with password, as usually happens with other online retailers. Usually a store will prompt to to do this for ease of future purchases, storing credit card numbers, and tracking orders. But I didn't even think about needing to do it til I was done and checked my email for an order confirmation. Yes, I got an email, but it was the same as the receipt I printed after paying through Paypal--just showing what frame I chose and how much I paid. I have no record whatsoever of what was submitted for the prescription. If I entered it wrong, I have no way of knowing. If they fill it wrong, I have no leg to stand on as far as proving what the prescription should have been in the first place. When I started poking around the website to see where I might be able to track the order details, THEN I discovered you can create an account, and doing so BEFORE ordering is the only way you can track an order. I don't know at this point if even doing that will let you see the prescription submitted. For $30, I guess I should just chalk it up to experience if things go wrong, but I thought I should point this out for future customers. Go to "My Account" and set up your account first thing! --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Check us out at the oft-updated http://glassyeyes.blogspot.com!
