I recommend Eyeglass Lens Direct <http://www.eyeglasslensdirect.com>. I purchased frames from eBay recently that I really liked. Given my rather high prescription, -7.00 (OD) and -7.50 (OS), and given that I currently have High Index Seiko Transition lenses, I thought I would just go with these same lenses. I found other online stores offering the High Index Seiko Transition lenses, but most of them got mixed reviews except for Eyeglass Lens Direct. I can't remember the other places I did research on, but one of them was from Denver and I think the other one was 39dollarglasses. I have to admit, it was not cheap, but it was cheaper than if I went to my eye doctor.
I would note that it took four weeks for me to get my glasses back. It turns out that they had to send the lenses back a few times since it did not quite match the prescription. This is probably the one ding I would give to Eyeglass Lens Direct. I wish there was a way for them to communicate these issues to me instead of me calling to get a status. Granted, this might reflect negatively on them for other customers, but I prefer transparency. I have to say, after receiving the glasses and after putting them on, I was very impressed. The vision was the same as my current glasses and I have to admit, the lenses look even better since I paid a little bit more for the lens edge polish option.
