Hello all,

I've just received my first pair of glasses from goggles4u, also the
first pair I've bought online. I've had the same pair of store-boughts
for 4 years, but my prescription has changed considerably, and I
decided it was time to try the net.

I ended up selecting a half-rimless frame (http://www.goggles4u.com/
detail.asp?Pid=32330), and decided to spring for the Polycarbonate
lenses, as I am error prone and want these to last a while. I am
fairly sure my last pair of glasses had polycarbonate lenses, as we
opted for the second lowest package at America's Best or wherever it
was, and I was very satisfied with them.

The pair that just arrived, however, is a little perplexing to me. The
lenses seem very thick, at least 1.75x as thick as my old pair (and I
don't think my scrip has changed *that* much), and look, well, very
plastic-y, as compared to my old pair. They have a ridge along the
sides of lens that I think is necessary for them to sit in the frames
properly, and I'm wondering if they might've cut CR39 lenses because
that thickness is necessary for the frames I picked.

Is there any way I can tell by looking if the lenses are CR39 or
Polycarbonate, or maybe taking them in to a local shop? I'll probably
keep the glasses either way, but if they switched the lenses on me,
I'd at least like to know so I can apply for a refund of the higher
cost.

Notes: My Scrip: Right Eye : Sph -3.50, Left Eye : Sph -3.00, Cyl
-1.00, Axis 177, everything else blank.
Also, you might want to be careful with the frame measurements on
goggles4u, as sometimes they'll have entered incorrect measurements.
Usually, if the frame has their 360' view option, you can get a look
at the actual measurements as printed on the frame itself. I don't
really mind this, just giving a heads up.
