My glasses arrived yesterday, 25 days after ordering, which is about right, according to the instructions on their site, for photochromic progressives with AR coating. It's been 15 years since I've had progressives, so I'm still adjusting, but I can see better than I have been able to see in a very long time
These are my first photochromic lenses, so I'm pleasantly surprised with how well they work. The start to darken within about 15 seconds of stepping outside and they seem to be perfectly clear inside. How long it takes to become clear from dark I'm not sure because I'm always too busy to check on that. The only down side, which is not Zenni's problem, is that I work on two 22 inch computer screens all day, and progressives just don't work well for that. They also make me lose at MahJong on my laptop later in the day - darn... So now I'm designing a pair of plain computer glasses with 50% pink lenses. I wanted to avoid this solution, because I'm a set-it-and- forget-it kinda person. I wanted to have a pair of glasses to slap on my face in the morning and take off at 11 PM at night - but oh well - when you're blind, you're blind. My only hope is that I've developed cataracts - and that means that after a few years, I'll be able to have new lenses implanted and have better than perfect vision again. Then I'll have to collect fashion sunglasses as a hobby. Now worries, Zenni; you've got a customer for life ! ! ! --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Check us out at the oft-updated http://glassyeyes.blogspot.com!
