80% are definitely shades for daytime use, but not extreme. I got 80% green from Zenni, and it reminds me of my dad's old Ray-Bans. Any daylight is enough light for these shades, but they are too dark for comfortable indoor wear or night driving. Oddly, they are pretty comfortable to wear at the computer.
