Your best bet is to bring the glasses to your local optician, along with the prescription and ask them to check if they match. Many opticians will do this for free in just a couple of minutes, especially if you have had previous business with them.
There is no way to accurately check the lens correction without the specialized optical equipment. If the prescription is correct, then you should give them at least a few days of real testing to try and get used to them. If after that they still don't feel right, you can return them to 39dollar - they have e fair return policy. As to online eyeglass buying being challenging, I think most people would agree that it does take time and research to be successful. It is not always a good solution for everyone, especially those with severe corrections or without the time or ability to conduct thorough research. First timers usually have more success if they try and copy their existing frames (assuming you like them) as closely as possible. Good luck, post here your progress... J.
