You could try ordering prescription sunglasses in a single vision prescription, in other words, just your distance correction. That's what I did--because I don't plan to use them for reading. They're a lot cheaper that way and you have a greater variety of frames to choose from.
For instance, my prescription reads: OD: -7.00, +2.00 OS: -7.50, +2.00 The +2.00 is the reading correction. So I simply ordered the sunglasses with -7.00 and -7.50.
