The first time I ordered glasses online (after discovering Glassyeyes!) was over two years ago. The first pair (with progressive lenses) didn't arrive until five weeks later. After trying them on and adjusting to the new stronger prescription (that can take a day or two), I realized my little anxiety over the extra week's time of waiting paled in comparison to the great glasses at truly a fraction of the cost. I still wear those glasses to this day (though my eyes have gotten weaker so I don't read with them for much more than a menu item at a restaurant). I recently opened the mail to two new pairs of glasses and sure it took a week longer than they promised but I got TWO pairs of glasses with progressive lenses for under two hundred dollars!!!!! Costco, Sam's Club, WalMart would have cost three times as much and they're the retail discounters!!
