Most of the online retailers allow you to buy the whole pair of
glasses, or just the frames with the "sample lens" in them. I am
familiar with Zenni's policy...which is to sell frames only, for half
the listed price.
But, I have to ask the question, why do you not trust online retailers
to make your prescription? Is it just unfamiliarity with the process?
Let me make a suggestion. Online glasses are SO inexpensive, that I
suggest for you to go ahead and get a pair made...the additional cost
*with* lenses will be minimal. If you like the lenses, then GREAT!
If you don't, then the optometrist can use the existing lenses as a
pattern to make the "brick and mortar" lenses, just as you had
planned.
