I believe this is the post you mentioned...it was made by a lady named Magda, and I can't find it in the list archives. I had a local copy, so I'll just cut/paste it in. _______________________________________

I sent them a JPG, and certainly that falls into the category of experimentation. I would have been thrilled if they had requested a vector file, but for this price?! The rimless, hingeless frames that are a Silhouette look-alike cost $51 (vs $250+ anywhere I've looked in the stores...) plus $35 for the 1.67 lenses which I genuinely need, and the antireflection coating (compare $300+ at a physical shop). I'm stunned. Being an ex-architect and artist, I suffer from the triple whammy of poor eyesight, low cash, and an extremely sensitive aesthetic. If these glasses are at all wearable I will have the very pleasurable problem of yet another area of personal design projects on my plate, because the temptation to order more custom shaped lenses, such as mirror sunglasses, will be just too great! Three cheers for the awesome hybrid of creativity and technology that allows these kinds of projects to happen. :) _______________________________________ So, apparently it's Optical4Less that does the custom shapes. -- Chuck Knight On Sat, Sep 5, 2009 at 10:56 AM, Paul<[email protected]> wrote: > > Maybe try these guys - http://www.wohloptics.com/ > > At least that will give us a baseline.
