Ah, but they're *not* in violation of the law, technically.
The corrections for your lenses are defined to be the
prescription...I've read that only 2 states (though I don't know which
ones) specifically identified the PD as a value which must also be
included.
In all other states, the PD is not mandated. Letter of the law, vs
spirit of the law.
Having said that, I've *never* had trouble getting my PD from anyone,
when I asked nicely.
