You appear to want to know what you are _not_ paying for, as well!

My point is, a place that charges you $8 for glasses can't and
shouldn't be expected to spend as much time holding your hand as a
place that sells you the same glasses for $400. Nor should they be
expected to use the same suppliers at all times, nor to use brand
names you have heard of before. All you can expect is for your
glasses to be fit for use, true to prescription, and as represented in
the description.

In my opinion, this is one of those "you pays your money and you takes
your chances" situations. If it doesn't work out to your
satisfaction, just try again; they're cheap. How many times in a row
would you have to come up with something you didn't like before you'd
spent the price of one single pair of glasses bought locally?

If this does not make sense to you, then maybe you should shop at a
local optician who provides the kind of service you expect.
