A few weeks ago I posted about a poor first impression with Firmoo, then followed up after their customer service worked hard to try to make things right.
I decided to give them another shot, this time ordering frame 1139 in black: http://www.firmoo.com/eyeglasses-p-1139.html On their recommendation, I also selected their 1.57 aspheric lenses, since they felt I wouldn't get as much fishbowling with the aspheric as I did with the regular 1.57 lenses. (My worse eye is +4.00, and I experienced substantial fishbowling with their standard ) This new pair arrived about as quickly as the first pair did, and I'm much happier with the quality of this pair's frame and lenses. The frames are very comfortable, and I really like how they look on me. I do get a little more fishbowling with these than I do with the 1.57 lenses from Zenni, but it's not substantial enough to make wearing the glasses uncomfortable. I'm guessing it's just a difference between brands of lenses. If I order from them again, I'd probably try their 1.60 lenses, just to see if I experience any difference between the 1.57 and the 1.60. I think Firmoo's frames are a bit more stylish than some of the other online eyeglass discounters, and I'd certainly consider trying them again... but I'm up to 10 pairs total (including sunglasses), so I think I'm going to take a break for a little while. :-) --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Check us out at the oft-updated http://glassyeyes.blogspot.com!
