AR = "Anti-reflective" (or anti-glare as its also referred to) and its a coating, not an actual tint.
Has anyone else had problems with rx sunglasses in general? I have never had them before, but I recently purchased a pair each from goggles4u and 39dollarglasses. I am unable to wear either pair as anytime I put them on I quickly get a headache, nausea, and my eyes feel 'strained'. I suppose I need to take the time to have them checked somewhere, which in part (inconvenience) defeats the purpose of the whole on-line experience. I thought it was strange tho that the same thing happens with both pair leading me to doubt that two dif companies could make the same error. I double-checked the orders and verified the numbers on the rx. I have not had the same issues with my 2 pair of regular single vision glasses I'm wearing via online purchases.
