I can also verify that is true. My eye doctor told me the same thing. As long as you take care of the lenses the same way they are as good as annual lenses. For people like me who really build up protein quickly , lenses become very uncomfortable, even with constant cleaning. I buy a few boxes, but not nearly as many as I would if I purchased what I would ned to in order to follow wearing drections as described by the mannufacturer.
