I thought I'd live on the wild side and ordered a pair of backup
glasses from eyebuydirect.com . I was in a rush because of the
holidays, and, after spending too much time narrowing the choice,
finally ordered and apparently clicked too fast through the check out.
When I had more time, I reviewed my emailed receipt and found a $4
charge tacked on for a buySafe bond which purports to guarantee that
the web site will live up to its claims. I'm really irritated at these
auto opt-in charges, and have already disputed them with buySafe and
eyebuydirect. I don't know how this will turn out (it is only $4).
buySafe is apparently a reputable company, but, if you trust the
retailer enough to buy from them, you may not want the added
insurance.

I know, I'm partially at fault here for rushing the check-out. I
expect eyebuydirect is not the only company shafting consumers with
buySafe.
