Well for once in my life I have real vision insurance, so just out of curiosity, I had the eye doc lady price a pair for me with the high-index lenses and my usual tiny-as-possible ovalish frame. $300 even with insurance! We hadn't even talked anti-glare! And I don't wear progressives yet....
So I got my script, and now have a pair on order from Zenni for $53, with anti-glare coating & clip-on sunshades & high index lenses. Much better! And i know Zenni products from having them before are pretty decent for the price. Hopefully they come before Easter, as Customs and delivery are always a bit of a crapshoot with Zenni. Got this frame in dark grey: http://www.zennioptical.com/cart/product.php?productid=1705&cat=20&page=1 I did buy my contacts from the eye doc. He has a reasonable policy, I feel for glasses not made in the lab he uses, he charges 30$ to look at and adjust them. I think this is good, that is a service he can provide that I will gladly pay for. I'm still doing better in return on the $$. -- Check us out at the oft-updated http://glassyeyes.blogspot.com!
