Just a quick note on my experience attempting to get some vintage frames released. Some years ago I happen to have been working at MIT when I picked up a lovely old pair of specs at a antique store. I dropped into the eye shop in the basement of the MIT student center. Which was lucky since the guy was very excited and allowed as he does a lot of work of this kind, mostly for civil war re-enactors. Sadly he was then able to quickly explain why my frames were hopeless - I don't recall why; something about their style.
