It might be best to discuss this particular application with your
doctor, as these sorts of calculations *can* be more complicated than
ordinary.

The rule of thumb is this: Sphere is your distance vision. Period.
Glasses for computer work will be the sum of your sphere and the part
of the ADD that you need for the computer part...probably half your
ADD.

Practical example: My OS sphere is very slight, -0.75. If my ADD
value was +1.0, then half that would be +0.5. (-0.75) + (+0.5) =
(-0.25)

But, your situation is different than most. You don't want computer
glasses...you want glasses that, when combined with your contacts,
*result* in your computer prescription.

Since your eyesight will be corrected by the multifocal contacts, all
you need to do is to buy some glasses with approximately half your ADD
prescription, and put them on your face. To try this out, just go to
WalMart while wearing your contacts, and go to the reading glasses
section in the pharmacy. Find the value that you're considering, and
try them on...and read the test paper. Be sure to position it at
arm's length, as that's just about the right distance for your
computer's monitor.
