Background: I have a 5 year old daughter who has been wearing glasses for a year. We've emphasized how she needs to keep her glasses on, and when she's taking them off, she MUST put them in her glasses case. But kids will be kids, and she lost her glasses on the playground. I went to the optician's and ordered new glasses, and when we received them, she broke them THAT DAY from a careless mistake. There had to be a better way... I was going to go broke on glasses!
A friend mentioned Zenni Optical, and I did my due diligence and researched the heck out of online resources. Glassyeyes was super helpful. I compared frame measurements with samples from the optical office and pulled the trigger. I ordered 2 different pairs, total INCLUDING shipping was $33.85 on 9/21. Ordered received on 10/7. Both pairs came in hard plastic cases, with a glasses cloth. The order was correct. My daughter loves both pairs. The quality is acceptable, and frankly better than I expected. I spent $33 and got near two pairs of glasses! She can lose them, sit on them, break them, whatever and for that price I'm not going to stress. We are still emphasizing caring for her glasses, but now I don't have to worry about the ongoing cost. I encourage anyone who orders to buy at least 2 pair. Since wait time on an order is about 2 weeks, it's best to always have a spare or two on hand.
