I've ordered glasses from 39DollarGlasses, EyeBuyDirect, Coastal Contacts, and GlassesUSA, and for the most part, I've had good experiences. 39DollarGlasses has sent me a couple of pairs with out of alignment temples, but the prescriptions and lens quality were right on the money with all of them. The Kohl frame I bought from Coastal for $6.99 is flimsy, but the strength is on the money. I used to spend in excess of $100 on a pair of boring, plastic frames, no coatings on the lenses, etc., to being able to get glasses with nicer frames and all the coatings for much less than that.
I've always had a problem with glasses sliding off my nose, and I've learned through opticianworks.com that I needed longer temples, which is why I bought the frame from Coastal. To buy frames online, one needs to be more informed about glasses and through Glassyeyes, Opticianworks, and some other sites, I've learned a lot. As for glasses quality, I find the glasses I've gotten online are just as good as what I used to get for much more at the mall. If you want to know about a specific shop, check out the reviews on Glassyeyes.com, there are some reviews of Goggles4U there that might answer your questions. Good luck.
