My normal prescription is -1.75 sphere, -2.5 cylinder axis 80 in both eyes. If I wanted a pair of glasses that gave extreme magnification, so that I could assemble and paint very small model parts, what kind of prescription should I ask for? Should I increase the sphere by a negative number, like to -4.5, or should I go the opposite way, to +4.5 ? I don't care if they are as thick as coke bottles, I am not planning on wearing them for more than 15 minutes at a time, at my hobby desk. Thanks for any insights (and excuse the pun).
