I placed two separate orders for two pairs of glasses on 8/11. I got the Kam Dhillon Black Oyster glasses with 1.61 lenses as my regular glass and the Kam Dhillon Chocoholic glasses with 1.5 lenses as my backups. On my receipt it said the first pair would be delivered on 8/22 and the second pair would be delivered on 8/18. Four days letter I got an email notifying me that part of the first pair had been sent to the manufacturer to be completed and that they'd get to me on the 22nd, the original delivery date. For the next week I occasionally checked the website to track the progress and both glasses were shown as "In fulfillment". The 18th came and went with no delivery but I gave them some extra time and waited until the 20th to call customer service. I tell them my issue and they tell me that it's just an estimated shipping date. I explain that I understand that but according to their own site they've haven't even been shipped yet and it's two days past the delivery date, what's the holdup? CS looks up the order and tells me the glasses are scheduled to go into production on Monday or Tuesday, should be shipped shortly after that and all he can do it email production about them and then forward my response. They give me no reason as to why glasses that were supposed to be delivered on 8/18 haven't even been made by 8/20.
The 22nd rolled around and, of course, my other pair wasn't delivered either and I didn't receive the promised email from them. I waited until 4 pm on Tuesday, 8/23 to give them a chance for a delivery to be made or an e-mail to be sent. Nothing happened so I used the live chat feature on the site to talk to CS. I explain the situation again, including the recent developments. They look up the orders and tell me: "I sincerely apologize for the delay in filling your recent glasses order. We have recently been informed by our Optical Lab that there was a machine error while the glasses were in production and the equipment is still being repaired. We are expecting the technical issues to be resolved early this week so that production can be completed on your glasses. As soon as they are complete, we will notify you by email and will provide you with your tracking information so that you know exactly when to expect delivery." I'm doubting the veracity of just how "recently" this happened because, like I said, my glasses weren't even made by the time they were supposed to be delivered so there had to be a problem before that even happened. I'm annoyed by this but can't do anything but wait so I accept it. Then I hop onto the CC Facebook and see all the postings they're making with their free coupon codes yet there's no mention of a machinery error. In addition to this, there are people excitedly posting about how they ordered their glasses 3-5 days ago and just received them today. If there is some "error" how is it possible that people that ordered after me are getting their glasses before mine are even made? This is the final straw. I'm calling tomorrow and this situation will be rectified, one way or another. Interestingly enough, I ordered a pair of glasses and Rx sunglasses from Zenni on the same day and, even with added time because of the lens tinting, that order shipped out on Tuesday and will probably be delivered later today. -- Check us out at the oft-updated http://glassyeyes.blogspot.com!
