HI,

If you are using HDMI you might be falling foul of over-scanning:

If you are lucky there is a setting on the TV to turn it off.

Marco

Hi,

My Debian server console is hooked up to a TV. This used to work fine, but Debian updates over time have made the console visible area shrink more and more on the screen. I've found out how to set the resolution and font in GRUB and other places, but neither of these change the actual screen size.

What makes the console size fit the screen it is attached to? This doesn't ever seem to be a problem on computer monitors, so how is a TV different? And is it a PC/BIOS(UEFI) thing maybe, rather than a Linux problem?

Thanks
Henrik Morsing
