Hello, I am looking for an ethernet switch that allows me to route some specific IP addresses to specific switch ports, and have seen a refurbished HP ProCurve 1800-24G managed switch on ebay. Would it do the job? I have some CCTV cameras connected to a remote switch, a single ethernet downlink to a local switch acting as a splitter to connect to multiple 10/100 input ports to a CCTV recorder. I have had a problem with an old "smart" switch which if the relevant camera IP address is not present first or later disappears then the switch throws all available data at the required port, the recorder is overloaded, and other cameras then disappear.
