No, each team uses its own gradients. When you place a forbidden field, it is an obstacle for your own globs but a free one for all others. Gates wouldn't be a speed problem. Imagine them as kind of reverse-forbidden-field. Or as an accumulation of forbidden fields of all other teams. Your globs may pass, the others not. So the number of gradients would not increase.
