Well, I'm sure Bradley could make it just the way you like it. He seems to
be the only one making big features atm :D

sure. the rewrite of some core structures. but not the new maps
up/download.
i had rather precise ideas how this should work:
the map list presents a list of all maps the client can get its hands on
and downloads parts on demand.
so first only all names of all maps found on the local client. then the
additional maps found on the "YOG"-map server and why not all the maps of
the other clients, too?
combined with a rating system invoked in the final stats screen.
i doubt Bradley wants to code glob2 alone.
