Hi Globulation2,

My name is Robin Liu, located in Shanghai, PR,China. I would like join
this community and please assign some primary tasks in C++ programming.
I have work with C++ and .NET programming for over 4 years. I begin my
interest in open-source world when I received a task of progamming on Linux.
Becuase I now know nothing for Boost, SDL stuff, so would anyone assign a
task which can help me touch on these cool technologies?

Best Regards,
Robin

Hello Robin, and welcome to the team. Before you get started, heres a few
things you should do:

Join us on Savannah ( http://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/glob2 ) (perhaps
by creating a new login), and join the project. Me or one of the other
admins will accept you to the crew.

Secondly, email Stéphane Magnenat <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> with a user name
and password so you can have developer access to our mercurial server.

Thirdly, get a copy of the code and get it running on your system. Remember
to use https://hg.globulation2.org, not http://hg.globulation2.org, as the
latter will not give you the developer access you requested from Stephane.

Finally, you can join me on IRC, at #glob2 and #glob2-devel (join both!) on
irc.oftc.net. This way we can communicate much quicker while you get
started.

There are plenty of things to do. Big priority is bug fixes (check our bug
tracker http://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?group=glob2 ). I personally seem to
have a knack for introducing very irregular and unreproducible bugs (go
figure, the worst kind), so these are top priority.

However, if you want things in terms of new code, our campaigns could use
allot of work. Right now I implemented very basic architecture for
campaigns. There are lots of things that could be improved with it, such as
graphics, descriptions on the maps, map previews, etc..

Also in terms of new features are Pre-Game alliances, a long-time requested
feature. We want to be able to choose alliances with other players (AI or
internet) before the game begins, and preferably lock those alliances
throughout the game.
