This letter is regarding the RAID error on your server at ip: 66.70.34.150. At
8:30 PM EST I went into your server to perform the correction. I did see that o
ne of the drives appeared to be offline, however the solution we followed from A
ccelaRaid did not correct the issue. Your server is currently up and functionin
g, but its status has not changed. Tommorow, I will be contacting the manufactu
rer again, and we will discuss your problem. I will be in contact with you agai
n hopefully to schedule another maintenance period. I apologize for this inconv
enience, but I assure you I will personally get this matter resolved in a timely
fashion. Thank you for your patience regarding this issue. I will contact you
as soon as I know more.

und dann wurden wir informiert, dass das Bios des RaidController wohl defekt ist:

I am sorry I have not been able to contact you over the last few days. I have b
een trying to formulate a solution to your current RAID problem on your server a
t ip: 66.70.34.150. The best one I can offer you, would be in the form of a rep
lacement server. The problem is, is that for an unknown reason the RAID card it
self is not allowing access to the bios. Without access to the Bios we cannot f
ix the problem. We have contacted the RAID manufacture for support. Mylex was u
nable to provide a solution. However, we can build you a server to replace your
current one, with equal to better specs. We will help move your content onto the
new server and assist you with the setup of the new server. I apologize for the
obvious
inconvenience this has caused you. Please contact me at your earliest convenien
ce. Thank you.

und dann die mail, dass sie uns einen 2. Server aufsetzen:
--8<--
We will build you a new server running Debian Woody with kernel 2.4 kernel.
We will start building it today and we will let you know when this is completed.
We are very sorry for this inconvenience, if you have any other questions plea
se let us know. The process you stated is the best possible solution, put new I
Ps on the box so you can test it out. We will have both boxes up on the networ
k until DNS has propagated. If you have any other questions please let us know.
Thanks

2. ungeplanter reboot

I am sorry to say that due to a power issue your server, 66.70.34.150, is down.
We require the root password in order to preform a manual file system check. As
soon as the server is back up feel free to change the root password. I appologiz
e for the inconveniece. Please send the root password to [EMAIL PROTECTED] T
hank you for your patience.
--8<--
Ich habe dann da angerufen und eben rausbekommen was kaputt ist und mit dem root PW
haben die dann den Rechner wieder hochbekommen.
Nach Michael nachfragen bekamen wir nochfolgende Erklrung dazu:
--8<--
It seems that the power issue was a result of human error on our part. Your serv
er has a redundant power supply, which means there are two power supplies and if
one fails the other will power the server untill the failed power supply is res
tored. Unfortunately bolth power supplies were placed on the same curcuit. When
that curcuit went down bolth power supplies did as well brining your server down
. We have alleviated this problem by putting each power supply on a seperate cur
cuit. We appologize for the inconvenience and assure you that we have taken prec
autions to prevent anything like this happening in the future. If you require an
y further information or would like us to set forth any further protection for y
our server, please let us know. Thank you.
