I cannot hold a crandle to your question:

[The question is whether we want more of the changes we are causing at
a
faster rate or less changes at a slower rate with the attendant
consequences of trying to slow down the rate of change. ]

But, for the love of Mike, who is the "we" to which you refer? Are you
including our children and their children?

Has the public conversation about this warming planet devolved into a
game of 'whack the mole'?

I am about to give up on this and the many climate change blogs. They
are beginning to sound like the chatter immediately following the "last
call" down at the pub.
