Actually you are, although that doesn't seem necessary and I'll change
it. There is a glitch in the google interface which means that sometimes
it is not possible to read particular messages before approving them
(something to do with quoted text)! I'm not sure if that was the case
this time, or whether it was just an accident.
As a general point, it's actually easier for the moderators if people
"join" the group and can be whitelisted, as it is far simpler to bin a
whole screenfull of spam than pick out one or two coherent messages
hidden therein!
