Those of you who regularly do math homework for your children or
grandchildren, and those who can recall their own childhood will be familiar
with the "story problem", intended to exercise complex reasoning skills in
elementary arithmetic classes.
Here's one for today's youth:
If by 2050 US energy demand will quadruple, and nuclear generating capacity
will double, how much conservation, renewables, and CO2 capture & storage do
we need to reduce CO2-equivalent emissions by half?
