Paleoclimatologist Reid Bryson passed away today. Among his more obscure accomplishments was a paper in the early 1970's about "The Human Volcano", whereby anthropogenic dust promulgated global cooling - cited on William's ice age page I think. More famously, his thesis in _Climates of Hunger_ that colder is worse than warmer where agriculture is concerned.
