Climate change is serious enough to justify immediate US political actions,
such as capping emissions and promoting the deployment of new nuclear
reactors and other low emission technologies, without resorting to scare
mongering misrepresentation. There is a big difference in how "bad" it is
to lose sea ice versus "the entire polar ice cap" - the difference is
roughly six meters of sea level.
Since both US presidential candidates support emission caps and low-emission
technology deployment, I find little to quibble with besides Al Gore's
pompous prevarication.
