California-based Solix Technologies [BSE - 501421] is expanding its channel ecosystem and entering the Indian market. Founded in 2002, Solix provides enterprise data management solutions helping organizations meet compliance requirements and achieve information lifecycle management goals and strategies. In an exclusive tête-à-tête interaction with ChannelWorld, Sai Gundavelli –Founder and CEO, revealed, “India has always been an epicenter for us with our complete R&D, development team, training, support and other activities based in this country. At present, India is not contributing significant revenues; however, we are making our presence felt among enterprises. With the surge in data explosion, India will remain our major focus market.” Throwing light on the company’s three-pronged approach to capture a larger market share in the next few years, Gundavelli said that they intend to strengthen the development center, strategic alliances with partners and focus on marketing programs.” Based at Hyderabad with a 100-plus employee team, the vendor is not planning any branch offices. “At present, we are investing more resources on sales and alliances to help our partners leverage our offerings,” he said.
To capture mid-market and SMBs, Solix is lately engaged in adding another set of partners to its existing channel ecosystem. Accelerating its MSP model through channel partners, Solix offerings will be available as managed services in ‘pay as you go’ model for customers. “We are looking to appoint partners, particularly system integrators, solution providers or service providers with good experience in infrastructure management,”he said. Gundavelli said that they are seeking partners who excel in storage/application management and who has a decent customer footprint coupled with upgrade/migration expertise. This will help the vendor penetrate the wide SMB market, as this segment could now afford managed services in the enterprise data management. There is a large business potential for channels as continuous data growth will always mean more data optimization tools needed at customer end. The vendor’s flagship product – Solix Enterprise Data Management Suite Enterprise – is primarily aimed at enterprises providing applications like Database Security, Database Cloning, Data Auditing, Database /Email Auditing, Enterprise Archiving, Database Archiving, Email Archiving, ERP Reports Archiving, Enterprise Search, Application and Infrastructure Consolidation and Data Migration. Apart from global alliance with Wipro, the vendor has a set of resellers /system integrators, which resell and help implement this offering. Solix offerings have proven to ensure lower TCO,faster ROI and propel Green IT. With faster data archival and related functions, there is lesser power consumption, need for storage space, etc helping enterprises limit their hardware infrastructure,” he said. With Oracle as a strategic partner for Solix, the customer has a value proposition in the overall data enterprise management. According to Gundavelli, the early adopters of Solix include BFSI, manufacturing, healthcare and telecom.Solix solutions streamline information management, security and automate data storage and retrieval. “We are further focusing to enable compliance and E- Discovery through long-term data retention, data masking, database audit and enterprise search. Apart from worldwide 24 X 7 support center, the company’s portal educates, trains and updates the partners. Being a software vendor, Solix does not want to pursue a national distributor model. He said, “We operate in a niche marketplace in which we need to interact with a limited set of focused partners (resellers/system integrators).
