*Dishman to cut salaries by 13% *AHMEDABAD: Dishman Pharmaceuticals has announced a 13% salary cut and reduced the number of working days. However, the company is not in favour of job cuts. As per the sources, last week Dishman announced a 13% cut in salary for annual packages above Rs 1.5 lakh. “There has also been a cut in production. The company is now working 5 days per week,” said a source on the condition of anonymity. In a reply to ET’s e-mail, MD of Dishman JR Vyas said that the five-day week schedule will be effected only in some production units at its Bavla (near Ahmedabad) plant. The rest of the plants are working normal (6 days a week). Admitting that there has been pay cuts in the company, Mr Vyas said “Only senior staff, whose salary is above Rs 1.5 lakh per annum, have been given pro-rata salary cuts for five days.“ As per a company official, the employees are relieved as the company has not gone for job cuts. Mr Vyas confirmed that the company has no plans for job cuts in future and that it would, in fact, recruit 100 more people in June for its new oncology unit.
