However, industry sources disputed this figure saying the company may have garnered not more than 2,000 customers over 24 cities. Private players are yet to start the 3G service as they would get the required spectrum through auction, which is yet to take place. Till they launch the service, BSNL is trying to leverage its first mover advantage. BSNL launched 3G mobile services in February.
