Tata Tele brings new plan at Re 1 for 5 mins
New Delhi: Tata Teleservices launched a new call plan that would charge Re 1 for a fiveminute local call and Rs 2 for long-distance calls of same duration for its CDMA users. The move would further intensify competition for market share in India and other players could follow suit with similar or a variant plan. Tata Teleservices, which launched pay per second billing to grab more subscribers, said if users speak for less than one minute, then charges applicable are just 25 paise for both local or STD calls. The product also offers all roaming calls at 50 paise per minute, the company said. New customers can avail this plan by buying a starter pack of Rs 99, while existing subscribers can opt for the offer with a one-time recharge of Rs 51, it said.
