*Canada Pension Plan* is investing $100 Mn in the PE firm – *Multiple
Alternate Asset Management*.

Multiple Alternate Asset Management is a PE Firm established by *Renuka
Ramnath and Sudir Variyar*. Sudhir Variyar was with ICICI Venture, leading
the financial services and energy sector investments. Multiples will make
sector agnostic investments in India.

Renuka Ramnath is expecting to raise about $350 Mn by the end of March'10
with CPP as the anchor investor.

Renuka Ramnath has been the MD & CEO of *ICICI Venture* from 2001 to 2009.
Under her leadership, ICICI Venture raised India Advantage Fund Series 2, a
growth capital and buyout fund with a corpus of $810 Mn which is currently
India's largest PE fund. In 2005, ICICI raised a $550 Mn real estate
investment fund (REIT), one of India's largest REITs.

Other senior executives of the Indian PE industry who have gone to set up
their funds include *Ajay Relan* – former head of Citigroup Venture Capital
International – set up his own fund CX partners which recently achieved
first close of $220 Mn. *Vivek Paul* – former vice-chairman of Wipro – has
formed his own PE firm Akansa Capital and is raising a $400 Mn PE fund.

*Harsha Raghavan*, former MD of Candover India and Subbu Subramanium, former
partner of Baring PE Partners India are also setting up their own PE Funds.

The Canadian Pension fund had $123.9 Bn AUM as on 31st Dec’09 and has
committed $33 Bn to PE fund investments out of which $18 Bn has already been
invested. It has Private Equity portfolio of more than 140 funds with more
than 70 managers. It has made investments in other PE funds including
Carlyle, Blackstone, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan and KKR.
