*Aqua Logistics Ltd* plans to acquire 3 Hong-Kong based third party logistics companies through its subsidiary* Aqua Logistics HK Pvt Ltd.*
The companies are *CIT Logistics Ltd, TAG Logistics Ltd *and *AGI Logistics Ltd*. The company will acquire a majority stake of 60% in the 3 companies for a total of $7.09 mn and intends to acquire an additional 15% stake over a 5-year period. Transaction Note Aqua logistics was established in 1999 as a logistics and supply chain company. It is promoted Rajesh Uchil & Family. The company had raised Rs 150cr from the capital markets in January, alloting Rs 30 cr for acquisitons. The revenue stream of the company comprises income from freight logistics, contract logistics and project logistics. Of the three, about 91.6% of the revenue came from freight forwarding/logistics in the fiscal ended March 2009 with contract logistics (2.9%) and project logistics (5.5%) accounting for the balance. According to ASSOCHAM, third party logistics (3PL) outsourcing among Indian companies is estimated $ 60 mn as around 55% of Indian companies are outsourcing logistic services like supply chain management and warehousing, which used to be between 10-15% 10 years ago.
