United Breweries surges on the buzz of Heniken hiking stake
Heniken is reportedly planning to hike stake in Indian Joint Venture- United Breweries. Heniken holds 37.57% stake in the company through Scottish New Castle, Heniken UK, while United Breweries’ promoter holds 37.25% stake in the company. Heniken and UB’s promoters aggregately hold 74.82% and according to SEBI's minimum public shareholding norm, promoters’ stake cannot exceed 75%. Hence, Heniken will hike stake only if promoters opt to liquidate their stake. -- CA.
