sorry for english, but i think is the only common language, as italian
i can more or less understood french, but speaking or writing it is
another story... ;)))

I've found GLPI past week, i'm a 2-year user of IRM
(http://sourceforge.net/projects/irm/) and i'm a bit bored of it,
development are pratically freezed, author speak about an irm 2.0 from
years, and does not come...
For irm i've done some patches, localization, ldap integration,
authentication (imap/pop).

I've downloaded and installed glpi, and seems more well coded,
organazied, make better html code and have some more feature, so i'm
really intended to switch.
Apart making an italian.php language file, i've to do, at least, some
patching to integrate glpi in my network setup, as for irm:

+ adding support for importing/using user data from an ldap database
+ adding support for modular authentication (at least database,
   current, and imap/pop3)
+ adding to glpi some sort of knowledgebase, as irm 1.4.X.

i can also make some scripts to convert database, when done.

For now i've installed an tried to tackle with, and i've found some
question:

+ after login, i cannot move to the tracking page, apart explicitly
  typing:
        http://address/url/tracking/

  why?
+ i've seen printer and monitor, why not general ``peripheral'' item?
+ i've seen the ldap support, but seems simply an ldap browser/editor
written in php inside glpi. There's plantly of php ldap
editor/browser, and i've understood that this code came unchanged
from IRMA. why not simply remove it?

If i've to hack user data and password handling, where i've to code?
There's some convention i've to use?

Many thanks.
