I'm start using (sayed better, get addicted) with WPKG:

        http://wpkg.org/

an automatic software deployment tool for windows.

They use a concept of 'package' for software installation, 'profile'
for a set of package, and assign to every host a profile, so a set of
package.

It is easy to add to GLPI a wpkg plugin, it suffices to add a single,
drop-down field 'profile' and do a simple script that dump them in XML
(that wpkg use).

But... why not to add to GLPI the same 'profile' concept? I think that
it is common to install the same software for the same office/workload,
and probably even on a complex organization there's no more than half a
dozen 'profile' of software installation.

Could be a usefoul feature to have the ability to install not
'software', but a 'software profile'?
