I suppose this is the continuity of your aim to operate GLPI with
Postgresql. So i think that you have test it with this DB but what
about other DB ?
Mdb2 is not an sql-level abstraction layer but a database-feature
abstraction layer, db.functions has been changed to host database
specific changes for specific SQL versions, on most databases this can
be done with no (or almost no) changes as far as they support SQL92
syntax. One of the "must have" of our client is some kind of database
abstraction layer so we have no choice but developing it.
Other question is why did you choose this abstraction library ? Did you
make some comparaison with other lib ?
We chose pear mdb mainly because we're made to work with pear framework,
all our projects are integrated with PEAR effort and since we hope that
our client (http://www.edu.juntaex.es/) keeps working with us we need
to concentrate our efforts.
This has been integrated with current snapshot and works flawlessly,
integration is done using a DB wrapper to isolate current structure
from
database changes. We've adapted install procedure, backup and
configuration accordingly.
Are you sure that complex search with GLPI inventory are ok ?
As said before mysql functions are almost untouched, no need for big
changes anyway. We've still testing core integration and working towards
plugins.
