It is very easy to get a bunch of folks that have no knowledge of or interest in a given item to vote against it. But as far back as I can remember, the vehicle of choice for suicide bombing has always been the humble automobile or truck, more so in other parts of the world , but we can't forget Oklahoma City, or the first attack on the World Trade Center in 1993. I don't recall anyone having a poll to see if we should restrict access to U-Haul trucks, or privately owned vehicles. Of course not, it would affect too many people. But if they can make it look like they are doing something, and not offend the majority, then go ahead. GA seems to be whipping boy now, even though no GA aircraft was used in the terrorist attacks. Restricted access to GA aircraft would not have stopped a really determined suicidal person from stealing a plane and killing themselve and possibly others. I do think this proved that a small airplane does not make a good weapon, if he had driven an SUV into the lobby of the building, he could have potentially taken a lot more lives.
