I'm just about to replace my front seal for the second time. After
checking clearances I found that the seal spring was not holding the
lips of the seal tight enough against the crank. I've taken about 1/2
inch off one end of the spring and rebent the hook on the end. Everyone
seems to accept that the front seals leak on the small continentals.
I'll be very suprised if mine still leaks after this mod. I'll let you
know how it works out.
