I saw a post a short while back here on someone who rolled on paint with
a roller. Dismissed it at the time, BUT I got a quote to shoot just the
bottom of my bare aluminum coupe, and it was $2000 - and that's without
any paint removal. That's a bit much as far as i'm concerned.

So I've been looking into painting the bottom myself. Having absolutely
no painting experince other than rollers and brushes on houses - I've
been reading up on "how to" apply paint to an aircraft.

A friend told me he read of the "roller" method in EAA Sport Aviation a
while back and it was some special paint. Now since this is only for
the bottom of the plane and to cut down on polishing time, I'd consider
this if it is a viable option. Not viable means that it would look like
crap, even under the plane.

Does anyone have some light to shed on this. What type of paint and
what results could be expected. It would definitely cut down on a
learning curve of how to spray - or worse: cleaning up everything that
was sprayed and not intended.

Thanks,

Rick Green
