The standard cg calculation does not really calculate the "center" of
gravity.
What is really calculated is the location of a 2 dimensional plane which
contains the cg.  
The real cg is some point between the wing tips and above the wheels and
below tip of the vertical stabilizer(s).
If the aircraft has fuel tanks in the wings and one tank is full while the
other is empty, the cg will be shifted from the longitudinal centerline
toward the side with the full tank.
The vertical position of the cg will shift when the fuel tanks are full or
empty unless the tanks are mounted on the empty cg.
