Need some help. I recently installed the O-200A engine in my coupe and
didn't like the performance of the McCauley 1A101 propeller I had. I
tried a 1B90 prop I had and like the performance. I thought I would try
and do the right thing and submitted a 337 to the FAA in Salt Lake City
FSDO for a field approval. I sent copies of the TSDS for both propellers
showing the approval for the props on the O-200A engine and this prop is
approved for installation on the C-85  engine in the Ercoupe however I
have nothing showing approval for the prop on the O-200A engine in the
Ercoupe if I had that I wouldn't need the field approval. They are
telling me I will need engneering data to get this approved. A fellow
a&p told me today the only difference on these props are the 101 is
square  tipped and the 90 has the rounded tips, and that I should have
just made a log book entry. Does anyone out there with the O-200
installation have the B90 prop on theirs and have any approval for this.
