----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- 1232 lb. Came from someone (at the FAA?) taking the number 560 Kg. as the maximum weight and converting (sloppily) to pounds. That's a strange enough number for a starting point. Here's a table you can talk over before sending in your comments: 415-C 1260 lb. 415-D, E, G, Forney F-1 1400 lb. Forney F-1A and all later 1450 lb. Kilos Pounds 2.2 2.20462 conversion

I talked to Paul Poberezny of the SSA as he was the father of this proposal and the one that got the ball rolling. He told me that his original proposal set the weight limit at 1300 pounds. Like me he is at a loss where the 1232 came from. I noticed in the current news release that in the EAA has held a meeting with associations, government officials and kit manufacturers regarding the NPRM, but the EOC was not contacted for our opinions. Also I wrote the EAA regarding the weight limitation and they could not give me any answers! Anyway I am still at work trying to sort through this and to get some positive input from someone at the EAA, so far no luck. I will continue to make it known that we are interested in seeing the weight limit raised. If you have any suggestions please contact me. I feel that if we all ask for a higher weight that it will have more impact than one comment from the club. The FAA like all government pays attention to numbers, so please contact them requesting higher weights.
